hi all:

I saw a chemistry lecture presentation in power point served via a
webserver, where you could go and start the presentation. Then in a
single ppt page, it will start with something..but as you click on it,
it will add more stuff.

So, for instance, if its about a reaction mechanism..it will start with
something simple..then as u click on the page, it will add, arrows,
texts, images etc.

I am trying to figure out how to do that? I would like to be able to
add audio along with that kind of animated presentation. I would
appreciate it if anyone could point me to the right direction.
thanks,
shahab

They probably applied animation effects to the objects, making them "appear" on
mouse click. Sounds can also be added to the animation effect. Have you tried
this? What are you having problems with? What version of PowerPoint are you
using?

Hi Sonia:

Thanks for such a quick response. I am not doing any ppt presentation
right now. But I am thinking about working on a project coming summer.

I am using Microsoft Office 2003 version. I want to create ppt
document that shows texts, images, equations etc event at a time. So,
when someone goes to this page first, they will see something. Then
after a click, something else will pop in the page, and so on.

Or perhaps even better would be to, matching with with the audio
description, texts, graphics, equations will appear on the page without
the user intervention. Can this be done in power point?

And once I create that, can that be served from a webserver? I wanna
create review materials for students - physics, chemistry etc.
Thanks in advance. I truly appreciate your help.

Yes, all of that can be done, but I suggest that you start learning how to do it
before summer arrives. Then you will have confidence and will be prepared. As
you experiment and learn, come back here with your questions.

In addition to Sonia's advice, you might want to start here for specifics on
adding animation.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP051924001033.aspx It's pretty
simple and straightforward and should get you started on the right track.

http://office.microsoft.com/training/training.aspx?AssetID=RC060786731033 is
a nice little "course" that should also be helpful.

I found these by searching on "animation" from Microsoft's PPT home page.

a lot of useful info there.
