Clickable flag spot gone from Inbox view (only)

For some reason, while other folders continue to display the rectangular
clickable "Flag" spot that is the same height as each message listing
and sits at the right end of each one, the Inbox insists on showing the
flag nestled under the timestamp. While there it can't be clicked to
turn the flag on or mark it complete. I also can't seem to bring up the
Field Chooser in the Inbox (right-clicking all over the top section
won't show it). Any clues?

It may be a problem with the view. To try and resolve this you can close
Outlook and go to Start->Run and type in "Outlook.exe /cleanviews" without
the quotation marks and click Ok. this will reset all of your Outlook
folder views to the defaults. Keep in mind this means that if you have any
special views setup in any folders they will go back to the default and you
will have to manually set them up again.

I hope this information is helpful.
