click & drag not working

click & drag not working. worked fine for years, but downloaded a
spreadsheet today for nephew, noticed formulas not working, click & drag not
working. Tried Tools, Options, Allow cell drag off and on. Still not
working. Must be able to drag vertically and horizontally!!!! HELP!
 
Go to the Tools menu, choose Options, then the Edit tab. There,
ensure that "Allow cell drag and drop" is checked.

Does the problem exist with all Excel files, or just this new one........if
just this new one, then the file is probably at fault......you might try the
new file on another machine to see if it works ok there.....
