I would like to clear out the list which appears when you click: "START -->
RUN ... "

Also, if possible, can that list be turned off so that the URLs will never
appear in their?

Is it a RegEdit variable?!?

Right click Start Menu > Select "Classic Start Menu" > Click Customize
Click Clear button and click Cancel twice
Is it a RegEdit variable?!?

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU

Good Luck, Ayush.

You can't "turn off" the list, but you can set ClearRecentDocsOnExit
value to 1 in

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
Policies\Explorer

so that the list will be gone on reboot or logoff..

Navigate to the following key in the Registry:

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU}

Delete all the entries in the right pane. Log off and log on.

Also, if possible, can that list be turned off so that the URLs will

Navigate to the following key in the Registry:

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU}

Right-click on "RunMRU" key to select "Permissions" and deny your user
account read rights.

Can you say: "clean as a whistle!"? Totally worked. I also set the
"HK_CU\...\Explorer" value to 1.

Thanks a million you guys! :)

Another problem... I started to type in a website I use for school and even
though the entire list was blank, the list popped up another list of EVERY
SITE I ever visited. When I checked the RUN list again it indeed was blank,
but this must mean there is another HK that needs to be set.

Hi joe,

The web sites you mention in the Run dialog box are being picked up in
your Web History. You could try to set the IE History setting to 0 zero
days in Internet Options.

Control Panel > Internet Options > General Tab > Browsing History
Settings.

Try setting the IE history to 0 days then clear your History files.

Control Panel > Internet Options > General Tab > Browsing History
Delete

Delete History.

Let me know if this works for you.

Open Internet Explorer, Tools > Internet Options
Go to Content tab and click on AutoComplete
Uncheck Web Addresses and click ok twice

Good Luck, Ayush.

Two URL's I typed in yesterday did not disappear upon reboot this morning.
Maybe they remained b/c I typed them in verbatum?? So the list will be
created if I type them in and then I have to delete them manually?

Thanks in advance.

Clearing the list of "most recent documents" cleared out the URL's as well.

Thanks in advance.
