Greetings

I am trying to access a web site who has recently changed the IP address.
However, it's as if the old IP has become locked into my PC and wont go away.
I've cleared all the cookies and temp files and still it's as if the browser
cannot forget the old IP. Any ideas?

I'm using DSL on an WinXP SP2 box, IE6 SP2, 1.7Ghz 1Gig ram.

Perhaps I should have posted to the networking group, but thought it may an
IE issue. TIA for the help.

Check C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc for a file named HOSTS with no
extension. (Not Hosts.sam)
Make sure Windows is set to show hidden files and folders and is NOT set to
hide extensions for known file types.
If HOSTS exists, rename it to HOSTS.OLD
Reboot an try again.

Or, In a Cmd window, enter
ipconfig /flushdns
then clear your TIF also, and re-boot.

Greetings and as the kids say - DOH!

I was so wrapped up in higher problem solving I did not even stop to think
about the host file. And right you were. As soon as I renamed it and rebooted
the "problem" went away. Excellent call!

Thanks so much.
