Clearing cache from "Run..." option in Start Menu

In any version of Windows, the "Open" bar from the "Run..." option in the
Start menu keeps a record of virtually every URL you visit. How does one
clear that out? I have tried using the "Clear history" option from Internet
Explorer properties, but that doesn't seem to work.

Delete the alpha-named Reg_Sz string values found in
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU
or

I see where doing this would allow you to remove the URL's listed when you
click on the drop-down arrow. However, if you begin typing without selecting
the drop-down arrow, a completely different drop-down list (for lack of a
better description) pops up below the bar. The URL's from that list,
depending on what you have typed, would bring up anything with that character
or letter in the text of the URL. For instance, if I select Start>>Run, and
I type an "h", and then stop, every URL with an "h" in the text (along with
any page visited within that URL's website) will come up in that drop-down
list. Now of course, virtually every web address has an "h" in the text due
to the "http://". I hope this helps explain what I am trying to do.

I have tried that many times, but unfortunately it doesn't clear it out on my
Win 2000 machine. Strangely enough, it does clar it out on my XP machine
though.

I'm wondering if there is something within the user folders from the Docs &
Settings directory. If I log on as a different user, the "history" list that
comes up from the "Run" option is different from one user to the next.

It's really not that big of a deal, but I don't like not being able to
figure something out.

Yes these would be profile specific. One or the other should have worked.
The user profile may be somehow corrupt.
