Is there a way to clear all "formatting" in a word
document so that you are starting fresh?? We have users
who have upgraded a manual/document created in an earlier
version of Word and now all the formatting,
pictures/objects, text, etc...is all thrown off. They are
wanting everything to line up with the left margin so they
can re-format it. I know in Excel there is a Clear Formats
option, I don't see this in Word. Any ideas?

Cathy,

Cathy this is going to take a few steps.

CTRL+A (select all)
CTRL+Q (clear all paragraph formatting)
CTRL+Spacebar (clear all character formatting)
CTRL+SHIFT+N (Apply normal formatting, remove indents,
remove tab stops)

To remove tabs, you will need Edit>Replace. Type ^t in the
find what field and either nothing or a number of spaces
in the replace with field.

To remove formatting from text:
Select the text whose formatting you want to remove.
If the Styles and Formatting task pane is not open, click
Styles and Formatting on the Formatting toolbar.
Click Clear Formatting.
Microsoft Word restores the formatting to the normal
style for your document.
or
Highlight the entire document, copy it to another window
and choose Edit/Paste Special/Unformatted Text.

Ctrl+A (Select All), Ctrl+Shift+N (apply Normal style). Or, if everything is
in Normal style already, Ctrl+Q (reset paragraph formatting) and
Ctrl+Spacebar (reset font formatting).
