clear button?

Hey,
I'm a little stuck with the syntax for this one. it used to be something
simple like cmd.cls or something which cleared everything in text boxes on
the selected form. Anyway, what I have is a Database for Equipment so I know
what's being taken out and the user selects the item from a combo box then
types into a text box how many are being taken and then the whole report and
print thing. That's all easy. however, once the user is finished I want all
the data in the text boxes to clear.
Could someone please help me out with this rather simple code.

If this is a form bound to a table (or query), then moving to a new record
would effectively clear all of the text boxes for you. You could create a
new "Clear" button that moves to the new record. Try:

Private Sub ClearBtn_Click()

On Error GoTo ErrHandler

DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec

Exit Sub

ErrHandler:

MsgBox "Error in ClearBtn_Click( ) in" & vbCrLf & _
Me.Name & " form." & vbCrLf & vbCrLf & _
"Error #" & Err.Number & vbCrLf & vbCrLf & Err.Description
Err.Clear

End Sub ' ClearBtn_Click( )

.. . . where ClearBtn is the name of this button on the form. However, if
you don't have a form bound to the table (or query), then you would have to
clear the value from each control individually with VBA code. For example:

Private Sub ClearBtn_Click()

On Error GoTo ErrHandler

Me!txtNumTaken.Value = ""
Me!cboEquipItem = ""
' and do the same with the other controls . . .

Exit Sub

ErrHandler:

MsgBox "Error in ClearBtn_Click( ) in" & vbCrLf & _
Me.Name & " form." & vbCrLf & vbCrLf & _
"Error #" & Err.Number & vbCrLf & vbCrLf & Err.Description
