Clean installation

I bought my computer with Xp home already installed...it
never came with a windows cd , and I wanted to do a clean
install, so I went back and they gave me a "back-up" burnt
cd version of xp...now can I do a clean install with this
back-up disk?

Thanks ! So I take that as a yes...I have the right
product key copy cd cause they checked b4 they gave it to
me...I was just wondering cause they just gave me a back-
up copy, and wasn't sure that it was like the original.
