Clean Install Question Using XP CD

I have read a lot of the excellent tips on clean installing XP by booting
from the XP CD. I have also read a lot about properly formatting a NTFS
drive to have 4K Clusters for best performance. If I boot from the XP CD,
remove my current FAT32 partition and install a new partition, select the
NTFS File System, and let the CD format the drive, will it select the 4K
Cluster Size correctly? I have two SCSI drives, my C drive is 18GB and my
D drive is 73GB. If I understand what I have been reading, this will
happen.

Also, I have read that proper MFT placement can increase drive performance.
Does the XP install CD and NTFS formatting routine address this as well?

Thanks for your help!

Yes and yes.
