This class action suit contends that Microsoft violated
North Carolina's antiturst and unfair competition laws
and possibly overcharged me in recent purchases of
Microsoft software - specifically in my case an upgrade
from Millenium to XP last year and a recent application
of Publisher. I need to know when I installed these
products. Are there records on my PC that are printable?
Or possibly I can go to Microsoft's website since I
registered these products online and print a record for
each product. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a copy of the formal paperwork to submit for NC.

There are categories of Microsoft Products that are eligible.
W/Windows 95,98, ME
O/Office 95 thru Office XP
S/Dos, WinWorkgroups, 2000 & NT
A/Word, 95, 98 200 Excel, etc
**Apparently, Windows XP is not one of the qualifying O/S's.
The qualifying period is between Dec 9, 1995 -> Dec 31, 2002

The actual form for submitting the settlement has columns for
the following:
Product Code Year Purchased Name of Seller
PID or CD Key

Hopefully, you have saved your original CD's/Key codes as this
will be required. You should know that you will only receive
vouchers for each product you submit. I believe most will be
for $10 per product. Certificates of Authenticity will be
accepted as proof of ownership, when the software is no longer
in use or media available.

Microsoft does not collect information in regards to when
you installed a particular Microsoft product. If you wish to
view a list of Microsoft software installed, do the following:

1. Open XP's "Help and Support" program.
2. In the Search box type: HEALTH , and hit enter.
3. Click on "Get information about your computer".
4. Then click on "View a list of Microsoft software installed on this computer".

You may even qualify for a discount voucher toward the
purchase of Plus! for Windows XP!
