I think all purchasers of Symantec products should get together and form a
class action lawsuit.

All of their products are clearly defective and don't perform as advertized.

Great idea!! And if you win, you and other purchasers will each get a $5.00
coupon as credit against the full retail price of any new Norton product;
and the lawyers will get $20 million in cash.

Next?

I have not experienced any problems with Symantec products, and we have
more than 4500 licenses for them.

You might want to qualify your statement to include the fact that
those are "Corporate" products and not the consumer products
that OP was referencing. Most folks posting here are not using
SAV, but NAV, NIS and other things we've discussed ad nauseum.

Actually, we also have Norton AV 2004, 2005, 2006, PcAnywhere, and the
version of Ghost 2003 that is also a Norton/Symantec product.

Not one of the above problems is causing us any problems.

Maybe you should suggest to the OP that they specify WHICH product they
are having problems with, as their statement is not true as stated, as
not ALL of their products are defective.

Sounds reasonable - By the way I still use Ghost 2003, It actually
works pretty well on imaging an upcoming version of Windows.
So if I can concede that some Symantec products are OK, will you
agree that they are a few/some that folks should avoid ?

Yes, completely.

I never suggest the suites or their "security" products, in fact, I've
seen their security products screw up more computers that I ever care to
have to deal with.

I also think that Norton AV 2006 is very bloated, but it's not broken
anything yet.

NIS is the worst piece of trash I've come across.

Go ahead and set it up...you be the point on this, and notify everyone who
uses a Symantec product.

I don't agree. I am using Symantec Antivirus 10.0.2.2020 and its installed
size is only 11.5 MB.
