I've a need to redirect printer output on LPT1 to a USB port but have not been able to do so using printer pooling or the MODE command (it only supports redirection to COM ports). Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Addendum:

I have an old DOS (!) based program that only directs printer output to LPT1. The only parallel printer in the house is a 24 pin dot matrix (!!). I have a shiny and new inkjet that only has USB inputs. Works great and all - but I want to be able to print from my DOS program to the USB printer. I've seen USB to Serial adapters but I believe that this issue can be resolved on the software level.

Hope this clarifies things.

Hmm.
What if you share this printer and then in dos prompt type
NET USE LPT1: \\Yourmachine\Printershare

That didn't seem to work. Is it possible that the printer won't print from
DOS? Some MS help indicates that printing from the DOS prompt to a PS
printer won't work. Any thoughts on this?
