I'm running XP-home sp2

Recently when I try to do a check disk instead of telling me it will run on
reboot, it proceeds to run on top of windows immediately. It seems to
complete the process, but I didn't think this was the way it was supposed to
be done. It used to work properly and run upon reboot. Do I have a problem
here?

When you run the command chkdsk without switches it runs in read-only mode,
i.e. no problems, if any, are fixed. The easiest way to run Disk Error
Checking is through the Windows interface.

Go to run,type:cmd In cmd type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,then type:
EXIT Restart computer

I didn't run it from a command. I went to My Computer, local Disc (C),
Properties, Tools, Check Now, scan and fix. It never behaved like this
before.
