Hi!
I do hope somebody can help me. Windows XP Home harddisk partioned into 3
partitions (c System) 75, (d Backup) 71 and (e Recover)3,5 GB (original
configuration). Once the computer had hung and I had to disconnect the power
cord. Since then the computer starts with chkdsk of D. Even pressing a key
does not stop the process. It finds no errors and the computer works fine. On
next boot the same procedure as last time is repeated. I have checked even
with Partition Magic for errors - no errors! What can be done to get rid of
this fairly annoying startup process?
Thanks

You might want to try the following:

Go to Start -> Run and enter cmd.exe
In the Command Prompt Windows run the following command:
chkntfs d: /x

Chkdsk.exe or Autochk.exe starts when you try to shut down or restart
your computer
