Hello!

Is there any form of log written that reports in
detail what CHKDSK found as far as errors? I've searched
for any *.log and *.txt files and found none that
correspond. It would be extremely useful to have such a
file as I'm trying to help a client determine whether
their hard drive is failing or if there is some other
cause for file corruption. I know that a results screen
is displayed but it isn't up for any length of time and
does not provide the detail needed. If there isn't such a
log and if a Microsoft tech is scanning this, please
consider this a vital tool to add in future OS releases.

Cheers!

Go to Control Panel > Admin. Tools > Event Viewer > Winlogon
after running Chkdsk to see the report.

Carey,

Thanks for responding as you definitely answered my
question. Funny how I could not find that in the
knowledge base... Probably didn't phrase the search right!
