Hi all,

I have a dual boot system with Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

Sometimes during startup, chkdsk sometimes does an auto check on my C
partition(Windows 2000) and displays the following messages..

Cleaning up 33 unused index entries from index
Cleaning up 33 unused index entries from index
Cleaning up 33 unused security descriptors.
Security descriptor verification completed
..........

After I boot into Windows 2000 I discovered that some of my files contains
unrecognizable text. and some of my executables is corrupted..

Anyone knows how to recover those files..I really need those files...:(

Thanks

Those messages aren't errors. They are just housekeeping that chkdsk does.

If files are corrupted then perhaps bad sectors are responsible, but you would normally get disk error messages.
Try

chkdsk c: /r
