I set the Windows XP language to Chinese (PRC). It
can display web contents in Chinese very well. However,
for some web (say, game site) it cannot display
Chinese. A pop up window says: "Your OS font is Cp1252,
not GB Chinese. There maybe some trouble in Chinese
display."

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

PRC Chinese is 'Simplified' Chinese. GB Chinese I believe is 'Traditional'
Chinese.

Sorry, I mis-spoke. There are 2 Simplified Chinese: HZ and GB2312.
Traditional Chinese is Big5. In View Encoding, check mark 'Auto-Select', so
it will choose the appropriate font for the data.

Try the following and see if it helps.

Viewing Chinese website

Sheen Luo (MSFT)

You will need to install a proper language pack.

When you to read a Chinese website without installing any language pack,
you'll see some odd characters. In this page, right click and select
Encoding->More->Chinese Simplified/Chinese Traditional (depends on the
website you are visiting), you will be asked to install the corresponding
language pack. Follow the instruction to install, you'll be able to view
Chinese website.

or..............................................

Language change:

Open Explorer
Click on Tools (on toolbar)
Select Internet Options
Select General tab
Click on Languages tab
Click on Add
Scroll down the list of languages and find the one you want click Add
Click OK
Ok again
Ok to close Internet Options

Hope this helps.
