Chinese Characters

When I shot down Windows XP Pro, I get a box which is titled with
Chinese Characters. The box tells me the app is shutting down. I've
seen this for several years and am not aware of any adverse problems -
however, I'd like to know what it is and, possibly, get rid of it. I've
searched in every way I know to find thos Chinese Chaeacters to no
avail. I can't even get a print screen since I only see them when I'm
shutting down.

Take a photo of the screen as it shuts down and ask a chinese person?? lol

Try having Task Manager up when you shutdown. Leave it under Applications
tab.
When the box appears, locate the item in Applications tab, right click on
the item, Select Go To Process and see what application it is. The
Processes Tab will appear and highlight the application.

or FileMon to monitor what going on your computer:
