How do you check what has been downloaded onto your computer without
your knowledge (by my nephew - who has visited unappropriate sites)?
 
The history file in Internet Explorer will cover the most recent period.

Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel can give clues too..
 
Grab an Index.DAT Viewer (google it (http://www.google.com)), it will list
all websites visited.
If your nephew has used some kind of tool to erase the Index.DAT data eg.
Tracks Erasor Pro then there probably won't be any chance to get any info.

In reference to checking what has been downloaded onto your computer, a
good idea is to put a keylogger onto your computer, to which only you
have the access to it. It is not detectable on your computer and after
whoever usues your computer, you can view every keystroke, to include
what sites have been visited as well. you can google up keyloggers to
see which meets your needs. This way, although they may get some sort
of track eraser, all that was done will still be viewable to you, and
only you. Totally undetectable by others. I hope that I am posting
this correctly as this is my first time, but the information contained
within is valid.

Don't you think you need to trust family members. Younger members
only rebel if you are too heavy handed!
