how do you check the bios ,a need to repair my xp and can not get into the
system ,safe mode will not start,or any other way from using the F8 screen

I think it is usually holding down the delete key on boot up. May be
different on your system but worth a try. Please don't blame me if you
toast your bios though.

try setting it to boot from CD rom and use your XP disc to run a system
repair.
 
The operating system is immaterial. Only you know what
motherboard and BIOS you have, so only you know the answer to your
question. ;-}

can you try ctl alt del after you reboot but only do this afte you press esc
from f1/f2
try it
