I have a partioned Drive (D:) & when I'm trying to
Defragment it, I get a message saying.

Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled
to run on the volume D: Please run Chkdsk/f.

When I run Chkdsk/f I'm told - The type of file system is
NTFS. Cannot lock current drive.
Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process.
Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the
next time the system restarts (Y/N)

If tried replying both Yes & no but everytime my system
restarts it Chec Disks Drive D:. No faults are found
upon completion of check then XP loads in perfectly.

How can I stop the Check Disk running at Start up.

Any help appreciated. Thanks
