our environment seem to require interaction between Linux and Windows.
We run UTF-8 charset on Linux, and we run WINDOWS-1252 charset on Windows..

Do anybody know problems/conflicts of changing to UTF-8 on Windows too?

What are you trying to do? What does "interaction between Linux and
Windows" actually mean? If you are just talking about sharing files,
there is no reason to change anything on either system.

Although I've never set my encoding to UTF-8, I alway use Western Europen (ISO) encoding rather than Western European (Windows) encoding with no trouble whatsoever. So, I'm figuring using UTF-8 wouldn't present any problems.
