Using Windows XP with MS Word 2002 and working in normal
or print view layout. When printing to an HP Laser Jet
printer located at another station, my document (always a
letter) will print with all letters switched to the left
margin appearing to have printed all on top of one another
and some at the middle of the page aligned the same way
where the date would be. I notice that in my view menu,
the setting has switched to web layout, a setting I never
choose. This does not follow any set pattern and I am
trying to figure out why this happens and how I can
prevent it. At other times using this same printer letters
and other documents are fine. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.

Just curious. What happens in Print Preview?
Does this happen to all documents?
Do you have any other printers you could try printing to?

To Nick B. for responding to my inquiry - thank you.
I offer the following response:In Print Preview the
document looks all pushed over to the left margin. This
does not happen to all documents. This is the only printer
I can use and when I shut down completely and restart my
computer, it will print ok.
Hope you might have a further answer. Thanks very much.

Just to be sure it is not Tracked Changes, can you open the file, go to
View->Toolbars, and if there is no check next to Reviewing, click on
Reviewing. On the Reviewing Toolbar, click on the checkmark and select
"Accept All Changes in Document" and then print preview it?

Kate,
I've come across this with a couple of my users too. It seems to happen
immediately after clicking the OK button on the print dialog box. The 2 users
who experienced this have different printers, so it doesn't appear to be
related to a particular print driver.
For info, we are using Word XP service pack 3 within a Windows 2000 Terminal
Server/Citrix Metaframe XP environment.
We can have 150 concurrent users, and this has only happened twice that I'm
aware of, so it's not a major problem for me at the moment. We just closed
the file and Word, then reopened them and everything is Ok.
I quite like to get to the bottom of this if anyone find out anything.

Regards,
Rich
