I just installed the xp upgrade from ME. Issue is it offered to install on a
smaller partition (about 5 gigs). Anyway now Im afraid that as things need
temp space, they will quickly run out. Also I have a lot installed from ME.
I thought installing XP would ditch it but now when I start up it asks if i
want to use ME or XP. I just want to be rid of everything xp related and
free space on my C drive, as well as make my primary partition NTFS and
ensure windows doesnt run out of room in temp folders and such. Any advice?
Thanks.

If you really want a Clean Installation.......install XP again as a NEW
installation and let it format the partition and change the file system to NTFS
at the same time. This will of course destroy all files on that partition so save
what you still need.
Then from within this installation format the old XP on the smaller partition
out of existance.
This will also delete ME from the system so hopefully you have a copy on CD in
case you need to reinstall XP sometime in the future and it will ask for upgrade
verification.

Or you could do a Google for "Bootitng" and use it to increase the size of the
small partition. Its a fairly easy program to use and you run it from a
floppy.First you need to read the help file but it is fairly
straightforward....reduce the 1st partition in size.....expand the small
partition to include the space freed.
