Changing Windows

When I'm using my computer, every few minutes the screen 'dies' and I have to
re-click back onto the screen I was working in. I'm using Microsoft Word
2003 and every couple of minutes while I'm typing the cursor changes windows.
It doesn't bring up another screen or program that I have open at the same
time, it just leaves word and goes down into the bottom toolbar so that I
have to re-click to continue typing. Am I hitting a certain key on the
keyboard or is Word set on a timer or something?

Check your screen saver/power settings in Windows | Control Panel | Display
| Screen Saver | Power to see if you have Windows set to blank your screen
after a certain amount of inactivity--but this should not happen when you
are actively working, which suggests that you may be inadvertently pressing
some key.

Hi, thanks for replying. I checked what you told me and it doesn't seem to
be the problem. When it does it, it doesn't actually revert back to the
screen saver. It stays with Word on the screen but the blue line at the top
is faded showing that that screen is inactive and another program from the
bottom toolbar is 'glowing' showing that it's switched programs. Can you
think of anything else that it may be? I experimented before by pressing the
alt key while I was working but all it did was take me to the top toolbar and
I was able to escape out of that. I'm at a loss!!

Ah, in other words, the Word window is losing focus. Possibly you're
pressing Alt+Tab?
