I am in need of a new computer and am not ready to take on the new Vista
operating system. Are there a lot of problems if I were to install a full
version of XP on the new computer.

If you fear Vista, why not purchase a new computer with Windows XP instead?
Gateway, Dell, and HP/Compaq are each currently selling computers with
Windows® XP Professional Edition (SP2) pre-installed.

The secret is to choose the correct portal; rather than choose the "Home" or
"Home Office" portal, choose the "Small Business" (or "Small & Medium
Business") portal.

If you go that route, you will have an opportunity to obtain the Vista
Business upgrade for a nominal fee (Gatweway is charging me $12.00).

Good luck,
Steve

If you are not ready to take on Vista, then you do not want to try to remove Vista and install XP on
your new machine.
1. You most likely do not have the hardware drivers for what ever make and model you buy.
2. You will be voiding the warrantee.
3. You don't sound like you have the skills to complete the job.

Go to a reputable local shop and have them build you a custom PC.
But be aware that you are now 6 years behind the power curve.
