Hi

How to change my username "John" which is an administrator acc to
username
"Administrator", I am not able to rename it as such on my XP home. Nor
am able to create new account with such name.
Any ideas????

thanks in advance
Sriram

This is because WinXP will not allow two accounts with the same
username. There is already an Administrator account built into WinXP
upon installation. Until you rename the default, built-in
Administrator account, you cannot name any other account
"administrator."

thanks bruce
exactly thats the point how do I login with usename "Administrator"?
I gave "John" as the Admin name during installation and Now How do I
change to Admin...
If this is not possible how do i access this inbuilt user called
Administrator
in XP home???

thanks
sriram

Greetings --

Once any additional user accounts have been created, the
Administrator account will no longer be displayed on the Welcome
Screen. This is a default security feature. By design, the only way
to log into the Administrator account of WinXP Home is to reboot into
Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at the Welcome
Screen will produce the standard login dialog box.
