changing the default location for my pst file

Hi,

I have done some research and I found that I have to change or create "ForcePSTPath" in the registry but I didn't really understand it.
Here is my scenario:
I use outlook 2003
I set up an email account (IMAP)
I realize that the pst file is stored on my C drive:
C:\Documents and Settings\Matthieu\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlookimap.laposte.net-00000007.pst
I want this to be on my D drive (say d:\Perso\outlook)
What should I do?

Many thanks

Matthieu
PS: if someone from Microsoft read this, it is time that one should be able to configure the location of the "C:\Documents and Settings\" folder when installing windows!

I'm not sure if this works the same way for an IMAP .PST file as for one
used with POP3 accounts, but usually you can just close Outlook, move the
..PST file where you want it, and when Outlook reopens you can tell it where
to find the file.

Hi,
thanks for your answer
I also have a pop account with the same issue.
I already your suggestion but it doesn't work with 2003. Outlook rebuilt the directory and files.
Any other suggestion?

Outlook does not allow alternate locations for IMAP files. ForcePSTPath
affects only the default location suggested when the user creates a new .pst
file. The value for Outlook 2003 would be
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\ForcePSTPath

As Jocelyn says, you should be able to move any non-IMAP .pst file while
Outlook is not running. Then, when Outlook starts, it will prompt you for
the file location.

And that will change IMAP properties in Outlook 2003?
