Hi,

Is it possible for an XP machine with a non-legit software to be "upgraded"
to a legit copy without the need to reinstall? This would make it easier
without
having to reinstall all the applications and utilities.

How to do it on an existing machine? with a new XP copy that is recently
bought.
Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Download Windows KeyFinder Here:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Decrypting-Decoding/WinKeyFinder.shtml

compare the key that windows key finder finds to the key on the bottom of
the laptop. If it is the same key then your windows is genuine and the WGA
tool needs to be updated or removed. If it is different than the key on the
bottom of your case then click change key. Type in the key from the bottom
of the laptop and click change key again. It should change your key code.
If it doesn't change the key code then it may be a different version that is
installed than the original that came with your computer. (ie: XP Pro or
Home; OEM, Retail, Upgrade, + VLK) Good Luck

When you're lost in the rain in Warez and it's Easter time too and your
gravity fails and negativity don't put you through; don't put on any
airs when you're down on Bill Gates Avenue, cause they got some hungry
MVPs down there who will really make a mess out of you.

If you see Sweet Carey, please tell him thanks a lot. My computer won't
boot; my hardware is all in a knot. I don't even have the strength to
get up and give it another shot and my best friend, my technician, won't
even tell me what it is that I got.

I started out on MacIntosh but soon hit the harder stuff. Everybody said
they'd stand behind me when the game got rough. But the joke was on me;
there was not even anyone to bluff. I'm going back to my selectric; I do
believe I've had enough.

If only it were true ... but alas, it's a lie.

If you are trying to install a WinXP Service Pack and getting the
following:

The Product Key Used to Install Windows Is Invalid

You need to purchase and a _legitimate_ retail or OEM full license
