I'm swapping out a 2.4GHz Intel 533MHz FSB chip to a 3.0
GHz Intel 533 FSB chip. Same board, just different chip.
The main difference is the new chip has Hyperthreading.
Anyone know if I need to add/remove/modify any components
in my current build?

Thanks,
Tim Houle

One thing that maybe you could do is run Target Analyzer on it, in the same
manner as you did before you swapped the chip, and see if there are any
differences in the components that it recognizes.

I removed the MPS Uniprocessor and added MPS multi-
processor to support the new chip.
It appears as though windows uses the Multi-Processor hal
for a hyper-threaded chip.

Hi Tim,

Yes and no.
Anyone know if I need to add/remove/modify any components
in my current build?

NO. It will work, but you won't use goodies that HTT bring you.
YES. Add "ACPI Multiprocessor PC" it will enable XPe to execute two threads
simultaneously.

Multi processor kernel can be used on single processor systems, but you will
have some small time penalties.

Slobodan

I do not understand I started to send replies to email addresses (usually fake ones) instead in NG. This is a message resend.
