I am filling out an excel worksheet, and the character limit for certain
cells is set to 520. If I type more than that, everything I've typed
disappears and I have to start over. How do I change the character limit for
cells in excel?

Looks like data validation is the answer. I did search before I posted, but
no relevant results were posted. A second search after my post revealed the
answer.

Thanks anyway!!!

How have you ascertained that the limit is 520?

Are you saying the if you type 519 characters Excel will accept that but if you
type the extra character all 520 disappear?

If you had Data Validation limit at 520 characters you would get an error
message that you have exceeded the limit and "Cancel" or "Retry"

Hit "Retry" then click in the formula bar and delete a few characters.

Data Validation limits can be set at Data>Validation>Text Length. Give a
minimum and Maximum

If not this, post back with some more details.
