I have a Japanese student using a computer on a wireless
connection. I need to use his computer to figure out why
his remote access connection is not working. The problem
I have is everything is in Japanese. Is there a way of
changing the language to english? He is using windows XP
the Professional version. Thanks.

One cannot change the language version of Windows XP.
You must purchase the "Full English Version" of Windows XP,
reformat your drive and install it "clean". The alternative is to
create a dual-boot configuration which requires an available,
empty partition. You can purchase and use Partition Magic 8
(www.powerquest.com) to accomplish this.

If you have a desktop computer, or a notebook computer that
will accept a second hard drive, you can install a second hard
drive and install the "Full English Version" on it and end up
with a dual language boot configuration.

Cannot Upgrade or Install a Different Language Version of Windows XP

Hi Jim,

No, he could install English language support, but the system itself will
still be in Japanese. You can't switch without reinstalling using the
desired language version..
