Changing "From" line in Outlook, possible?

I'm trying to get the various members of committee to be able to send
messages with a "from" address of the organisations ISP (they all
have their own ISP's). A bit like "Roady" appears to be doing.

How can they do that in Outlook?

Can it be set so that it automatically happens only for certain
messages (in certain folders?)?

TIA
Mark

I'm doing what? :-O

Sorry I didn't quite understand what you are trying to achieve.

If we're talking about POP3 accounts they can type any address they want in
their Account Setup. Whether or not they receive the reply or not depends on
whether or not forwarders are set.

For instance they can set the e-mail address of George Bush but then they
will never receive the reply since GB doesn't have his mail forwarded to
them.
When they use their address from work the replies will be sent to their work
as well. They can then either access that mailbox or forward their mail to
their home address.

Define a new account and in that account specify the sending address you
want the recipients to see.

I don't know of a way. You'll have to choose the sending account manually.

You're setting your "from" address in this newsgroup to something other than
your real one, in this case *not* to get any email that way.

Sorry I didn't quite understand what you are trying to achieve.

Oh yes you do! You've got it right, you just don't know why I'm trying to do
it. To establish a "corporate" address, and yes, their mail will be forwarded
to their own, home, mailbox from the address they set in their "from" line.

Hmm, I've broken out the copy of Outlook Express on this machine, it's
version 6. What it's calling "accounts" seem to be Internet accounts (I see
the "set 'from' address" option), which, having poked around a bit more,
looks promising.

The return address can be set regardless of the ISP they send through?

Mark

Yep, that is correct.

If you're asking about Outlook Express, you're in the wrong newsgroup.

(I see the "set 'from' address" option), which, having poked around a

Tools>Accounts. Select the account. Click Properties. Enter whatever you
want in the "E-mail Address" field. This will control what the recipient
sees as the sender.

The return address can be whatever you want, yes. This will control the
address to which the message will come if the recipient clicks Reply.
