Changing folder type

I messed up and created a folder that was supposed to store certain e-mail
messages as a subfolder under a contact folder. The system (Outlook 2003)
now thinks that new subfolder is a contact folder and I am unable to access
the message that was put in that folder. How can I either get that message
out of the folder so I can put it in the proper folder type or change the
properties of that subfolder. (I tried using the Properties option but the
system responded that "You cannot create an item of this type in this
folder.")

You'll have to create a new folder. You can't change the type of an existing
folder.

That will address future use of the folder, but my immediate problem is how
do I access the message that now resides in a contact folder so I can put it
in the proper folder. Or is it lost in hyperspace forever.

What happens when you try to access it now?

I'm not quite sure what I did, but I think I was able to move items to the
proper folders and correct some other problems I had with the setup of my
folders. I used the GO command to access all folder types at once and move
items from one folder to another. Thanks.
