CHANGING FILE NAMES, WHY DOESN'T THE PICS SHOW UP?

HELP PLEASE!

Whenever I save pics and I change the file name and click
on save and I go and preview the pics they don't show up,
they show up as a square with little icons in them. what
do I do to stop this?

PLEASE HELP ME!
 
Open your folder and give us the file name of a picture you cannot open.
It should be:
filename.jpg
Do you have .jpg after the filename or something else?
 
ok...i just saved a pic and i changed the file name
to "no doubt" but there is no pic and there is no .jpg
after it and i just saved the same pic again and there
is .jpg after it and the pic shows up. what's the deal?
Is there anything that I can do?

when you graduate from elementary school............

Your image files *must* have an extension that
matches the format. If you have image files that
have been renamed without the proper extension
....you cannot view them until you rename them
again and replace the extension.
