I would like to change the drive letter of my F drive to be J so that
it is the same letter as the J drive on my desktop. Is there a way to
do this?

Not if there's a drive with the same letter already.

yeh,
go to computer management under the admin tools,
then right click on a drive and get any letter you want
from the drop down. This feature is useful when
you have installed programs in a partition other than C and
decide to rearrange other partitions without reinstalling the
softwares over again...

Assuming your talking about two different computers and you want both to
match then:

Right click on My Computer, select Manage, then under the Storage option
select Disk Management.
Now in the right hand pane right click on the partition ( in your case) that
you want to
change the drive letter and select Change Drive Letter and Paths.
Then click the Change button and pick a letter (in your case) from the pull
down list.

Be aware that if you change the drive letter of a drive that has programs
installed on it, the programs will cease to run. All the many pointers and
references to the programs (in the registry and elsewhere) will be wrong.
