Changing Desktop Picture & System Restore

I was trying to change the picture I use on my desktop. I clicked on browse,
chose the folder, picked the picture and clicked on OK and nothing happened.
I did this 3 times and on the 3rd time the picture I was using disappeared
from the selection list. I messed with it for awhile but could not add a
picture.

I decided to use System Restore. I tried it 3 times using different dates
each time and it would not restore the system.

I am using a Gateway laptop with plenty of ram and disc space and Windows
XP. The only thing I can think of that I have added in the last couple of
months is an upgrade to IE 7.

I hope someone can help me as the last time I had a problem and took it back
to Best Buy they sent it off to Texas and they wiped my harddrive clean.
Since that time I have bought an external harddrive that I use to back up my
laptop about every month. It uses a program called Retrospect Express HD to
back up my hardrive.

Thanks,

Hi Splke,

Did you click Apply before clicking OK, when you choose which picture to
use?

-- It did not give me that option. The apply button was not highlighted so it did not work when I tried to click on it.

I solved the problem with changing the desktop picture but still have the
problem with System Restore.
