Sue:
The only thing my custom form does for me is to remove the read-only
attribute from the "From" field.
I have a client for whom most of my work is done on-site, using a machine
they supply and an e-mail address they supply. On average, I receive 10-15
messages per day on the client-supplied account. For security reasons, I'm
not permitted to use my own laptop to retrieve mail from the client's mail
server, so I forward about half of the messages I receive to one of my
personal mail accounts. Therein lies the problem.
Once I retrieve the forwarded mail from my mail server, I have a bunch of
messages with a from header of (e-mail address removed). That makes it
difficult to find messages by sender and to reply. The purpose of my custom
form is to allow me to change the from header back to the original sender.
I can also edit the header while it's still on my mail server, either
manually or via a script, but doing so manually is bothersome, and for the
handful of messages that I want to change, the Outlook form based solution
seemed appropriate.
I'd also be willing to upgrade from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003 if that
would make this process easier to resolve.
