Changing Control Names

In Access 2002, if you change the names of controls (let's say txtfield1 to
txtfield2), it orphans all of the event coding for that control name.

Is there any way around this or a more efficient way of handling when you
have to change a control name than to manually go through all the form's
events changing the name of the control?

Thanks, and happy holidays!

I use a Shareware add-in named Find and Replace. It adds a build button [...]
to the Name property that I can press when I want to change the name of a
control and it will automatically search the code behind the Form (or Report)
and change every instance of the name it finds.

Well worth the modest registration cost. A similar product named Speed Ferret
will do the same.
