Doing a file maintenance action in FileMaker Pro, the file got saved as
nm.102.fp3
The fp3 is the file extension for FileMaker. The file should be nm.102 , as
the FMP shell uses the 102 extension. This wasn't a problem before using
Windows XP.
How can I change the file so that the extension is .102?
Rename didn't work.
Thanks, LarryK

by default windows hides extensions
also rename does not work as you have found
go to any window containing folders
tools
view tab
untick the item ' hide extensions for known file types'

rename should then work ok
