Everytime I open Outlook I have to change the Incoming
Server Name (POP3) and Username to be able to send and
receive mail from my ATT e-mail account.
Why dosen't it save the settings for the next time I
launch Explorer?
Or where are the "default" or "master" seeting coming
from that are overriding the settings I want so I can
change them?

If they are being changed to localhost, then uncheck the option to use the
AV mail scanning. it could also be your firewall - check its settings.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it keeps changing
to "localhost". I searched Help for AV mail scanning and
could not find what or where it is?

Your anti-virus (AV) program is doing this. See if there's an update to it
that fixes the problem.

Hi,

Thanks. WOW, I would have never found that. When I
click off the mail scan on the anti-viris software the
changes to the e-mail account remain. However,
send/receive dosen't work then? The POP3 server times
out? I kind of like the idea that all mail is scanned.
When I click off the mail scan is my mail not getting
scanned by the AV?

Hi,

OK. If I click off the AV PC-Cillian "POP3 Mail Scan"
and "Splash" every thing works just fine. I've sent an e-
mail to PC-Cillian asking why they are not integrated
with Outlook 2002. Any suggestions on better AV
software? Thank you very much.
