I accidentily changed the background on my desktop and I
don't know how I did, the backgroung is white now. All
the backgrounds that are in the control panel that come
from the internet or pictures that have been scanned are
now white. How do I get them back to the regular colour?

Jenn,

Did you accidentally turn on Active Desktop?

Try disabling Active Desktop by doing this:

Click Start, then Settings, then Control Panel.
In the Control Panel, double click Display.
In Display Properties, click the Web tab.
Uncheck "Show Web content on my Active Desktop."
Click OK.

That should disable Active Desktop. Now, try to set one of your old
backgrounds.

In the Control Panel, double click Display.
In Display Properties, click the Background tab.
Select a background that is a BMP (with the MS Paint icon). Selecting a
JPEG or other file type will ask you to enable Active Desktop, which you
shouldn't do.
Or, click Browse and find a BMP background you want to use.

If you want to use a non-BMP background, you'll need Acive Desktop on.
Just tell it not to display any web content by unchecking any webpages
in the Display Properties tab for Web.

I hope tha helps.
