I right clicked on documents in the start menu, and I went to the location
tab, and changed it to an external harddrive. Now, when I hit it, nothing
happens, and it has disappeared from my User Folder. And When I right click
on it in the start menu again and hit properties, then it just has a general
tab thats like blank with no data...

Is the external hard drive connected (and accesible)? This problem happens if:

1. The external drive is not accessible
or
2. Windows has changed the drive-letter assignment for the external hard drive recently.

To fix the problem, you need to alter the shell folder value for "Personal" in this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ User Shell Folders

Okay, I just did that, and now it still wont work, I tried changing it to its
default one as it said on that website, and changing it to the one I want. It
still doesnt work. Also, it may be helpful to note that the documents icon in
my user folder isnt there either...nor has it been since I tried to change
it...I dont know how to get it back...

Did you reboot after making those changes?

Type "shell:Personal" in Start, search box. Does the Documents folder open?
