How can I change the Windows XP boot up screen? Without having to buy a
third software application?

I have managed to change the boot up screen under Vista, and I got a free
utility, and instructions for it, but would like to do so under XP.

How can this be accomplished?

maybe w/the tweakui
freeware/powertoy from/at

Nope, there isn't anything in the TweakUI PowerToy for XP about boot up
screens.

I know you have to replace certain files in the System directory, and so
some writing in the boot.ini file to be able to put up your own boot up
screen.

Someone on this forum knows how to do this, please help me before I have to
turn to a third party application.

Thanks, I will check to that. They do sound interesting, and thanks for
replying about my inquiry. Now all I have to do is look for an utility that
can let me tag, or put in the photo of my liking into the kernel file.
