I setup Windows Messenger using my .NET account on someone
elses' computer. Now I need to set it up on their computer using
their account information. Do I have to uninstall the program and reinstall
to setup with their information or.. is their a registry entry to edit or a
file to remove orwhat?
Thanks for the help

You might want to try the following:
Go to Control Panel and double click on User Accounts.
Click on the icon for the account you setup with your .NET
Passport.
In the left hand column, click on "Manage my network
passwords".
In the "Stored User Names and Passwords" box, click on your
Passport account to highlight it.
Hit the Remove button.
Go back to Windows Messenger and sign on with their .NET
Passport.

Good luck

There was no user account set up. I just started
Windows Messenger on the computer and put
my .NET or Hotmail account info into the setup
for the program.

1. To remove your Hotmail account info:
Go to Start -> Run. Copy and paste the following into the Open
box.

control keymgr.dll

Hit OK. You should now see "Stored User Names and Passwords".
Click on the line that reads Passport.Net\* (Passport). Hit the
Remove button. If you see an entry for your Hotmail account,
click on it and hit the Remove button. Hit the Close button
when you're done.

2. To setup Windows Messenger to use their .NET Passport or
Hotmail account:
Go to Start -> Run. Copy and paste the following into the Open
box.

rundll32.exe netplwiz.dll, PassportWizardRunDll

Hit OK. This should launch the .NET Passport Wizard. Follow the
instructions and enter the appropriate information.

Good luck

I'm not having this problem, but the solution sounded interesting, so I
tried to run keymgr.dll. It produced an "Open With" dialog box. I'm stumped.
Is there a missing step in your instructions?

Nothing missing as long as you include the entire line,
"control keymgr.dll" (without the quotation marks), in the Run
box.

Duh. Maybe I should read slower. :-(
