change to word perfect

I have documents saved to a floppy disc that was done in
Microsoft works word processing. Can I change them to
word perfect which is what is on my new computer?

You will have to open them with a compatible version of Microsoft
Works and then save them into a format that WordPerfect can open.
Microsoft Works is a strange beast which sometimes save files in a
format that even other versions of Works cannot open. Your best bet
would be to save them in an earlier version of Microsoft Word to
preserve your formatting and fonts. Works can save files in the
following format if you have the converter installed:
