Possible ?

Problem : I changed to a 'luna' theme and it is broke so while i can see
icons on the desktop i CAN'T see ANY dialog boxes.............like when you
right click to go to properties to change the desktop theme BACK i can't see
anything (the desktop background is black and so are the dialog boxes) !

Copying the user just gets me the same thing with a diff user (bah).

Anything please ?

TIA, Michael

IIRC, the luna theme comes with Microsoft Plus!
Reinstall Plus!

Good luck

Restart computer in Safe Mode (see Help (F1) for more information)
Then try disabling Theme service (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tolls - > Services
Find Theme service on the list, double-click it
From drop-down select Disabled
Click Apply, and then push Stop button
I am not sure if that will solve your problem, but it will disable themes
You may need to restart

Hope this helps

Hi,

I checked and the luna theme does not come with Microsoft Plus!
If any file is damaged, put the XP CD on the CD ROM
go to Start > Run > cmd
on the command prompt type:
sfc /scannow

This will repair and replace missing or damaged system files.

As long as i could do that from another user it would be fine but i can do
nothing from that user, can't see.............if i could see i could do many
things to correct it, already done sfc /scannow and a complete repair to no
avail, safe mode is just as useless .

Its hard to explain, black background, black windows, black font = blind.

GRRRRRRRRRR, thank you, Michael
