I know that ther is a simple regedit that allows users to change the way they
authenticate on the network. I have not been able to locate the reg key to
edit. Can anyone please post the regedit key link?

Please provide more information. What do you mean "change the way they
authenticate"? Do you have a domain or a peer-to-peer Workgroup? If you
have a server, what server operating system (and service pack level) is
it running? How are the users currently authenticating and what is your
end goal?

After installing SP2 on Win XP, I am not able to connect to my workgroup
computers. I know that there is a register mod that needs to be made that
will give me a signon screen when I access the workgroup computers for the
first time. Do you know what it is?

This is incorrect. Service Pack 2 enables the Windows Firewall and that
has probably caused your difficulties. If you are running a third-party
firewall or have an antivirus with "Internet Worm Protection" (like
Norton 2005/06) which acts as a firewall, disable the Windows Firewall.
If you are going to use the Windows Firewall, run the Network Setup
Wizard and enable File & Printer Sharing.

Ok, I have done that. I am using Symantec Client Security 2.0 for my
antivirus and firewall features. I can ping each computer on the network and
get a responce. I can see the computer in the " View Workgroup Computers"
window. I can not access the workgroup computer.

I hope this describes my problem for you. If you would like a very detailed
network decription I will be happy to get you one.

Are you connecting a Windows XP machine to a Windows NT4 server?
