I have a laptop running XP Home and once the laptop goes into hibernation
mode, I am required to log back in before I can continue using my laptop.

How can I change this and no longer be required to log in each time the
laptop starts back up?

Thanks in advance.

Turn on automatic logon...
But I don't really recommend that on a laptop.

Control Panel, Power Options, Advanced. Uncheck "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby"

"Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby" is unchecked.

I don't have to enter a password when the system comes back from standby. I
simply have to click on the user name.

I didn't have to do this until recently. I'm not sure what changed, but I'd
like to go back to the way it was before. I used to be able to just continue
whatever I was doing without having to go through the select user name
screen.

Thanks.
